Ranty Blog: Daniel’s Update

            This isn’t so much a blog post as a way to tell you listeners/readers a few little upcoming projects I hope you will be interested in. First thing is this, I’ve recently written a large format story that I’m hoping to post here on the Ranty blog for people to enjoy. A year ago my brother was married during a weekend that was full of ups and downs. I acted as his best man and with the event taking place at a casino found myself gambling and drinking over a three day period. The day after the big event, I sat down at a laptop still drunk from the night before and while smoking a cigarette pounded out a page or two of what happened that weekend. I told myself I would write this for fun and then I quit doing it. I got depressed, started drinking like a fish and let my life grind to a halt. At this point I never intended to write this out for anyone to read outside of my inner circle of friends. “Need something to pass the time? Try this.” I told myself I would get back on that horse and write. So I did. I wrote, edited and repeated the process. I made something funny, interesting, a little touching and most of all, real. I’d love for people to enjoy something I made but at the end of the day, I said I was going to do this and dammit if I didn’t finish the fucking thing.           The second big news I have is that I have been asked to develop and create a podcast for the Couch Party Network. I am honored to have been given this opportunity to take a ball and run with it into an end zone of good listening. I’ve been struggling to come up with a title, figure out the ins and outs and finalize what I want it to be but I swear its coming. I know I am the farthest thing from a TRB or Heather D and it is through them that you fans put up with me in any regard but I hope that when I bring this to the Couch Party Network that you will give me a listen or two before deciding if you are done with Daniels.

            Between my guest appearances, blog work and upcoming podcast I hope that you will let me know what you think of what I bring to the table.
